Air Power Conference 2018
The theme for this year's Royal Australian Air Force 2018 Air Power Conference was ‘Air Power in a Disruptive World’.
Over 1300 delegates from national and international Air Forces and other military services, government, defence industry, academia think tanks and media conferenced in Canberra from 20 – 21 March for the event. The theme for this year's Royal Australian Air Force 2018 Air Power Conference was ‘Air Power in a Disruptive World’.
RAAF is no stranger to the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC), holding their first conference at the NCCC back in 1991. The relationship between the event organisers and the NCCC team strengthens every year.
“The NCCC team continue to anticipate our needs and remain ever flexible and accommodating, they are a pleasure to work with. The NCCC event team feel more like our local staff rather than suppliers. The best part about the early morning setups is Ringo anticipating our requirements for good coffee and hot chocolate and never forgetting what we like. He is an institution!” said the Event Organiser, RAAF Air Power 2018.
NCCC is perfect for this annual event as it is flexible and compact enough for the delegates to be highly engaged both with the content schedule and the networking opportunities throughout the event.
Our in-house AV Company Encore Event Technologies were the chosen audiovisual and theming providers with a specific brief to create a unique statement piece that would work in with the “world” and digital theme of the conference. A dominating 13m wide projection screen brought the conference program to life, with a 3m diameter globe suspended dramatically from the ceiling delivering on the global theme.
The conference content was also live-streamed to the National Convention Centre theatre foyer and the VIP area, enabling networking opportunities and session breaks to complement the theme. Four gobos projected ‘flying’ aircraft onto the ground and either side of the stage; this really brought the event alive and kept the delegates engaged in what was happening on stage.
