Work, Health and Safety

Your Safety is Our Priority

At the National Convention Centre Canberra, we are committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone on site. Whether you are an event organiser, contractor, exhibitor, or working during setup or breakdown, we ask that you review and familiarise yourself with our emergency procedures before arriving. This includes understanding our fire evacuation protocols, knowing where to access first aid, and being aware of how to report any incidents or hazards.

Fire and Evacuation

If an alarm sounds, you will first hear an alert tone. Our Emergency Response Team will investigate immediately. Once the situation is confirmed, the Chief Fire Warden will provide clear instructions via the public address system. If evacuation is required, you will hear the evacuation tone. Please remain calm and proceed to the nearest emergency exit. Do not re-enter the building until advised it is safe to do so by ACT Fire & Rescue or National Convention Centre Canberra staff.

Please watch the video below for further information.

First Aid & Incident Reporting

Trained first aid staff are always on site and ready to assist if you require medical attention. If you need support or would like to report an incident or potential hazard, please speak with any member of our friendly and professional team. We are here to help ensure your experience is safe, smooth and well supported.
